Steamboats Are Ruining Everything
A writer in Brooklyn
I don’t know what any of these are; feel free to supply identifications!
I’m no authority – farthest from it – on New York plants but I think you’ve got (1) eastern hemlock, (2) woodland sunflower, (3) autumn olives (about which https://www.ediblemanhattan.com/recipes/autumn-olives-all-around/), and (4) a variety of serviceberry.
Thanks, Greg! (Though I don’t think I’ll try eating any of these quite yet.)
